Sometimes you need to flip a house—literally! Originally, the rear of this broad ranch had only a few small windows granting views of the river. Renovations transposed the main living areas to the rear and now admit expansive water views from full window walls. A two-sided fireplace, oriented at 45-degrees, is enjoyed from both living and dining areas. Rotating the roof ridge 90-degrees enables the new second-story master suite to soak in the water views as well. Cunningly, the distance from the edge of the bed to the balcony was intentionally made shallow in order to feel closer to the water’s edge.
