This cape’s family remained in their home through all the years of kids, pets, and empty-nesting. Three times along the way, the house was expanded; first with major additions then with kitchen renovations, and finally with new garage and sunroom. The priority each time was visual appropriateness for all four exterior sides. At the front, the house kept its quaint New England street presence. On the sides, house details interact with adjacent landscapes. And at the back, additions extend freely while affording glimpses of the nearby bay.
