Gaining more usable space does not always require adding a large amount.  This kitchen and mud room renovation called for greater storage and versatility.  An addition of only twenty square feet sufficed thanks to a new banquette built-in which, among other tasks, delineates space within the renovated room.  A similar built-in subtly separates the kitchen from the mud area.   Broader back wall glass opens up to a charming deck and steps.
